![]() ![]() But the problem is that the every day player wont realise the connection. Maybe every underworld battle is made under the castle (since Empire have cellars - I wouldnt say they have dungeons, since they are different in structure and look). ![]() The Overword battle was just an idea to make it more visible. Influenced by Dungeon Keeper, Overlord, StarCraft and Evil Genius."Įither way, if its done or not, i think the game will be amazing. In the kickstarter Campagn it says: "A mix of real time strategy and god game. Again just Dvader0086 Subteranean team is aware of the game "Evil Genius". Honestly tho, I think it would be an awesome concept even if it was never done in this game. Each battle would decide the fate of overworld. It would still fit in to the Battle for the overworld title. They had multiple keepers, and elves faction, and heros in DK 2, so I don't see any less reason why this would be a less awesome concept for multiplayer. Weather it be a skin pack, or a sequel to this game, I think if they get it done I will be saying: Shut up, and take my money! Plus on a multiplayer aspect, it would be cool to have overworld vs underworld battles. Obviously there is a great want to have it done. Just spit balling here, because it may be something they may not want to implement in this game. The devs may be considering something like ripping apart the castle, having control an above ground cave environment, or mountain lair. Your trying to snuff out good from the realm. Also one may speculate that just because you defeat an area in story, doesn't mean you move on. As I have read, there are currently no plans for it, but it may be possible to "infest" those overworld castles that you are indirectly attracting. This game is similar to it in genre, and it may be able to be implemented above ground. ![]() In evil genius a very similar game play was made above ground. Now the core game play can remain in tact and be brought up to the overworld. Perhaps having an overworld castle has some significance. I was speculating that too when metalbreath mentioned it. The only thing that we really need to see in regards to the Overworld is a map that shows the ruin and destruction in our conquered territories, like in other dungeon management games. The forces on the surface have to come down and destroy the Dungeon Core to win, and for this reason the forces of good would already have a number of underground fortresses of their own, so it makes perfect sense that the game would take place entirely Underground. If the blight thing is true as well then securing the Underground is all that is required. ![]() Any Underlord that is sufficiently entrenched would become nigh impossible to remove and the Underlord could send troops to raid and pillage with impunity. Dungeons would serve the same power projection purposes, and of course that doesn't even take into account that Dungeon Cores may generate some kind of blight on the surface.Īll an Underlord has to do to win control over an area is build a Dungeon under an area and get full control of the underground. In medieval warfare, a castle or fortress is not really a defensive structure, rather it's an offensive one - by controlling a castle in an area, you can send out your forces to raid and attack quickly and then have them return to the safety of your fortifications before the enemy has time to retaliate. What Underlords do is build Dungeons, underground fortresses. The Overworld is the object of conquest, but that doesn't necessarily mean the Overworld is necessarily the main theater of battle. ![]()
